Meet Lorna Naeve, our Library Director
I took over this position January 1, 2019. Previously I worked at the library part time, and I love being with all the books. I have lived in Gilmore City since 2001, with my husband, Jay. Between us we have 5 wonderful children, and 9 grandchildren. I love to ride motorcycles, gardening, reading a good book and spend a lot of time with the grandchildren, and children, in that order. GCPL is where my happy place is. I am eager to make Gilmore City Public Library an information center for the community and fun and a friendly place to visit.
Meet Michelle Bissell, our Children's Librarian
Michelle grew up on the family farm 10 miles from Gilmore City. She went to school in Rolfe, K-12, she met Kyle, her husband at Iowa State University, where they both went to college, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree. She married Kyle in 1989, and moved to Adel, Iowa. They have 2 sons’, and she worked in Des Moines at several Architecture/Engineering firms. Before retiring from AE Dairy in the spring of 2020. Michelle and Kyle moved back to the family farm, as a 4th generation to live there. They have 5 grandchildren, who all live in Ankeny. Michelle’s passion is her family, reading and knitting blankets for animal rescues. Michelle joined us in late August as the new children’s librarian. We feel very privileged to have Michelle working at our library family.
